As part of a refurbishment and re-purposing of an existing commercial premises, previously used as student accommodation, Netscendence supplied, fitted and deployed wireless networking infrastructure across the building.

The building works included extensive construction work to convert the building into 6 residential apartments, and 3 commercial business units.

The specification agreed with the property management company, JSWAP, allowed for full wireless coverage in all areas of the building, segregating residential and business users, and ensuring fair and proper usage policies were applied.  Also included was provision for wireless hotspot access for customers of the commercial units.

The hardware & software selected was from Ubiquiti.

This was a relatively small installation, but we have now established partnerships with larger N.I. based providers in this sector to allow for large scale works to be assessed and delivered as required.

In my role as Consultant and Networks Engineer, I was accountable for the smooth delivery of this installation covering the following areas :-

• Site survey of building and provision of documentation for same
• Provision of fully costed quotation and specifications of all hardware, cabling and software to be deployed
• Sourcing, configuration and supply of all networking infrastructure
• Liaison with client’s preferred cabling supplier
• Liaison with telecoms and civil works providers
• Installation and configuration of all hardware and wireless management and monitoring software
• Ongoing support and management of the installation
